How to time a Shovelhead. I drew this timing scale in AutoCAD for accuracy. I then set the engine at TDC compression stroke on the front cylinder, glued the timing scale on to the alternator cover then marked the rotor at 0 or TDC. The rest is just like a car engine. |

OK Most of the wiring done. Here's the back bone. The little black box is the horn relay. More on that later. The black harness going down from the frame is for the coils |

Rear wiring. Everything is run with the frame rails for neatness and keep them clear of the battery. Although the fender and frame colors look very different that's an effect of the fluorescent lights and camera flash. In daylight you can't see it. This also the effect of you painter changing paint companaies. |
