Painting the engine Assemble the cases Hard oil Lines Rocker box build up Assemble Heads Home		The flywheels all cleaned up and ready for the Timken bearings. the manual says you need a bunch of Harley tools to do this job...Nuts. Some tricks to pass on.
		This is the Timken bearing set. It comes as a matched package and the parts must go on in the correct order. You have the cone bearings, races, the large snap ring that set the outer race gap, and the small ring that sets the inner race gap
		Here's the snap ring in place. The arrow is pointing to the oil feed port that MUST be clear. This is the oil feed to the Timken's and if it's not clear you toast the bearings.
		A simple race setting tool. You can get this at any auto parts store.
		Seating the races.
		Now the tech tip. Instead of investing 100s of dollars in special Harley tools all you need to to is heat the bearing to 300 degrees and it will expand to the point were it will just drop on.
		This is a standard candy thermometer resting on the inner races. Harley cooking at it's best.
		The bearing just fell into place with a very satisfying clink. Before it has a chance to cool I press down with tongs to make sure it's all the way down.
		Here I've placed the left case on and I'm read to cook the outer bearing and drop it it in place.
		At this point insert the inner race spacer. this is critical...do NOT forget this part.
		Note here I've loaded the left case onto the inner bearing to insure that all is aligned and seated well. At his point I cook the outer bearing and drop it in place. Again push down on it with your tongs before it cools to insure it's seated.
